Dakota Blue Richards, an English actor, is known for playing Lyra in the movie The Golden Compass.' She also played Franky on the British Drama Skins. She has also been extensively involved on stage, appearing in productions of plays like "Arcadia" as well as 'A Streetcar Named Desire'. Richards was a Londoner at birth, was raised on her home on the Sussex coast. She took some drama lessons at her high school, but majority of her acting classes were held on weekend days. Also, she skipped school to attend auditions. The film was her debut an actress. Richards received a lot of praise for her acting skills, although the film was met with an unpopular response. The following year she made her tiny screen debut in the television film 'Dustbin Baby'.
